The Korea Studies Program and Latin America Studies Program at SAIS invite SAIS students, faculty and staff to a special luncheon with Dr. Wonho Kim. Dr. Kim will discuss South Korea’s post-war development experiences and how they can be applied to Latin America.
Won-Ho Kim is a Professor at the Graduate School of International and Area Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea and a Fulbright scholar visiting the U.S.-Korea Institute at SAIS. He previously served at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) as Director for the Americas, Research Director, Managing Director of the Center for Regional Economic Studies, and a senior research fellow for over 13 years. As a political economist, he conducted research and wrote books and articles on East Asia/Korea-Latin America economic relations, economic development and reforms in a comparative perspective, and on topics concerning international political economy of regional integration. He taught at the Universidad de las Americas (Mexico), holds a PhD in International Area Studies and is Executive Director of the Korean Council on Latin America and the Caribbean.
