Workshops

In advance of the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit, the US-Korea Institute at SAIS hosted a number of workshops on what to expect from the Seoul Summit and its parallel events, as well as potential scenarios for the future of the nuclear security regime. Below is a listing of workshops held in this series, along with their associated presentations:

  • After Fukushima: The Critical Role of the Seoul Nuclear Summit in Creating a Security and Safety Regime for the 21st Century [2] (November 1, 2011), hosted by Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies 
  • The Threat of Nuclear Terrorism: What’s New? What’s True? [3] (November 3-5, 2011), hosted by Seoul National University Institute for Peace and Unification Studies
  • Innovating Global Nuclear Security Governance: An Agenda for the Future (December 19, 2011), co-organized with Partnership for Global Security
  • Nuclear Security: Seoul, the Netherlands and Beyond [4] (September 2012), co-organized with the International Institute of Strategic Studies and Partnership for Global Security
  • Nuclear Knowledge Summit 2014: Planning Meeting (September 2013), co-organized with Clingendael, Partnership for Global Security, Fissile Materials Working Group, and the Asan Institute for Policy Studies
  • Looking Ahead: The Nuclear Security Summit 2014 in the Hague (September 2013), co-organized with Clingendael, Fissile Materials Working Group, and The Hague Programme on disarmament and non-proliferation efforts
