Yoon Ji-Sup is a Visiting Scholar at SAIS where he is working on a joint research project between SAIS and KAERI entitled “Research on the ongoing ROK-U.S. Nuclear Energy Cooperation.” Before coming to SAIS, he was a Research Advisor on Pyroprocess System and International Study at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), which he joined in 1987. He has led many studies in the areas of pyroprocessing technology development while working at the Fuel Cycle System Engineering Division as a Division Director. Some areas in which he has led studies are the pyroprocessing hot cell design, remote handling and transportation system for hot cell process, fuel cycle analysis including PR, and safeguards system. He worked for Georgia Tech as a visiting scholar in 2008, and for ORNL as a Post-doc in 1992. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Seoul National University in 1980 and M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1982 and 1987, respectively.
